Step 1: Check The Situation

Step 2: Call For Help

Step 3: Open The Airway

To let air through, gently push back the person's head a bit and lift their chin. This opens up space for air to move quickly.

Step 4: Check For Breathing

Check, listen, and touch for any signs of breathing. Put your ear near your mouth and nose while also watching if it goes up and down on the chest area. If there is no breathing or just heavy breaths, think the person isn't breathing. Then, do CPR right away.

Step 5: Begin Chest Compressions

Stand by the person's chest and hold their hands together, putting them in the middle of their chest. Try harder and quicker; squeeze the chest at least 2 inches down. Do 30 chest presses at a speed of about 100-120 times per minute?

Step 6: Provide Rescue Breaths

Do 30 chest presses, then give two lifesaving breaths. Close the person's nose tight, cover their whole mouth, and breathe into them until you see the chest rise. Each breath should last about one second.

Step 7: Continue CPR Cycles

Continue performing 30 chest presses followed by two rescue breaths until help from a pro comes, or the person starts showing signs of life like breathing.. If you are unwilling to perform rescue breaths, you can provide chest compressions only. This will still offer aid by keeping blood flowing throughout the body for a person who needs help.
